When you’re surrounded by so much death the mind becomes numb with shock. We have been so desensitized to violence that after awhile some deaths turns out to be pretty funny in retrospect. Or at least for those who see the incident from the outside. I think what I regret the most when looking back upon the weeks before the zee outbreak became common knowledge was the offbeat attitude we held towards the warning signs.

Reports of people previously known as rational or at least normal changing their behavior were ignored or found comical. Attacks where individuals began biting others, especially on or near the head were written off as quirky incidents of the deranged. Those who were bitten never sought out medical help which while not curing them might have contained the virus from further infecting others.

Such incidents were often reported by the news as random incidents both humorous and non life threatening.
